Praise for A Taste of Croatia:

“This is a gem of a cookbook!  Beautifully written! In describing Croatia and its delicious foods, Evenden holds the reader's hand and opens a new world to us all.”
Antonia Allegra

“Those of us whose parents and grandparents emigrated from Croatia's Dalmatian coast and Adriatic islands truly enjoy a renewed acquaintance with favorite places, foods and recipes in Karen Evenden's delightful, enthusiastic look at Croatia's people, its scenery and cuisine. Adventures aboard the Klatawa make it all the more exciting.”
Mary Karabaich

“Croatia and Croatian cuisine are explored delectably and expressively in Karen Evenden's cookbook, A Taste of Croatia. Part travelogue, an infusion of history, and a thorough discussion of the cuisine sets the reader on a journey, ready to explore the coastline, cities, markets, and the kitchens of this fascinating country.”
Diane Morgan
Cookbook author

“These days, we often hear about the benefits of eating fresh, seasonal, local foods that are grown and produced using sustainable methods, but it can be difficult to know how to incorporate that into our lives without it being too time consuming or expensive.  Throw in a dash of ethnicity, and even the most competent home cooks can become discouraged.  Fear not, A Taste of Croatia provides a straightforward and easy way to celebrate a culture whose dishes can be created anywhere fresh ingredients can be found.”
Tracey Ryder
President and CEO of Edible Communities, Inc.

“For Bill and Karen Evenden it was love at first sight when they arrived in Croatia and A Taste of Croatia is a testimony to this true and undying love. It is more than a collection of recipes and descriptions of the beauties of Croatia.  It is a book filled with love and friendship for a country, its beauties, tradition, and its people, described in ways in which guests view its culture, and how simple it is to fall in love and become its lifelong admirer.”
Branko Somen
Poet, Writer and Screenwriter

“You are a very special … and dear to the Croatian people. You are an American woman who fell in love with a country and its food. You're practically a national hero.”
Daniel Jutt
Croatian Chronicle
